Ingredients
4 cups penne pasta
1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 pound pork sausage (or preferred variety)
4 ounces sliced pepperoni
1/2 green bell pepper, chopped
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon dried oregano
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can sliced mushrooms (optional)
1 small can sliced black olives
24 ounces marinara or pizza sauce
1–2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Cook the Pasta: Prepare penne according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
- Brown the Meat: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and sausage until no longer pink. Drain excess grease.
- Combine Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked meat, pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, parmesan, oregano, garlic, mushrooms, and olives. Add cooked pasta and marinara sauce. Toss gently to mix well.
- Bake: Transfer mixture to a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish. Sprinkle 1–2 cups of mozzarella on top. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25–30 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve: Let cool slightly, then serve warm. Perfect with a side salad or garlic bread.
Notes
- Customize with your favorite pizza toppings: mushrooms, extra bell peppers, jalapeños, or spinach.
- For a lighter version, swap sausage for turkey or chicken, or make a fully vegetarian version by omitting meat.
- Cheese amount is adjustable; add more mozzarella for extra gooeyness.
- This recipe reheats well, making it ideal for leftovers or meal prep.
