Ingredients
12 oz short pasta
10 oz thinly sliced steak
4 tbsp butter (divided)
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp flour
3 cups milk
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 1/2 cups mozzarella
1 1/2 cups white American-style cheese
1/2 cup cheddar
Salt & pepper
Instructions
- Cook pasta; drain.
- Sear steak in batches; set aside.
- Cook onion & pepper in 2 tbsp butter; add Worcestershire; set aside.
- Melt remaining butter, whisk in flour (1 min). Add milk, simmer to thicken.
- Lower heat, stir in cheese gradually until smooth.
- Add pasta, steak, and veggies; mix well.
- Season and serve hot.
Notes
- Thinly sliced steak works best for tenderness and quick cooking.
- If using frozen steak, there’s no need to thaw before cooking.
- Avoid high heat when adding cheese to prevent a grainy texture.
- You can swap the pasta shape depending on what you have on hand.
- Add a pinch of smoked paprika or chili flakes for a subtle kick.
