Ingredients

2 ½ cups water

23 teaspoons whole cloves

1 tea bag (black, green, rooibos, or hibiscus)

1 tablespoon honey, or to taste

1 slice lemon (optional)


Instructions

  1. Bring the water to a boil in a small saucepan.

  2. Place the whole cloves and tea bag into a teapot or heatproof container.

  3. Pour the boiling water over the cloves and tea bag. Cover and steep for 5–10 minutes.

  4. Remove the tea bag and strain out the cloves if desired.

  5. Sweeten with honey, add lemon if using, and serve warm or chilled.

Notes

  • Adjust the number of cloves to control the intensity of flavor.
  • For a caffeine-free version, choose rooibos or hibiscus tea.
