Ingredients
Ripe Banana (mashed) – 1/3 cup (about 1 medium banana)
All-purpose Flour or Self-Raising Flour – 1/2 cup
Baking Powder – 1/2 tsp (*skip if using self-raising flour)
Cinnamon Powder – 1/2 tsp
Fine Sugar / Caster Sugar – 3 tbsp (2 tsp in dough, rest for coating)
Melted Butter or Oil – 2 tbsp (for brushing)
Salt – a pinch (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1:
Peel and mash the banana using a fork or whisk. Measure 1/3 cup of mashed banana and set aside. - Step 2:
Sift the flour into the banana. Add baking powder (if using), a pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, and 2 tsp sugar. Mix to form a shaggy dough. Add more flour if dough is too sticky. - Step 3:
Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (360°F) for 3–4 minutes. Line the basket with parchment paper and brush lightly with oil. - Step 4:
Scoop dough and roll into small balls (1–1.5 inches). Place on parchment paper, leaving space between each. Brush lightly with melted butter or oil. - Step 5:
Air fry at 180°C (360°F) for 6–7 minutes until golden brown. Pierce one to check doneness. - Step 6:
While hot, brush with melted butter and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a lighter version, use self-raising flour and skip baking powder.
- Donut holes are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the air fryer for 1–2 minutes or microwave for 20–30 seconds.
- Customize by adding chocolate chips, nuts, berries, or coconut to the dough.
- Keep donut holes evenly sized for consistent cooking.
