Ingredients
1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)
All-purpose flour (for rolling)
1/2 cup pizza sauce
2 cups shredded mozzarella
Toppings of your choice (cooked meats, sautéed vegetables, herbs, etc.)
1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a 6-inch circle, about 1/8 inch thick.
- Spread 1–2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on half of each circle, leaving a 1-inch border.
- Add approximately 3 tablespoons of cheese and 2 tablespoons of your chosen toppings.
- Fold the dough over the fillings and pinch edges to seal. Cut 2–3 vents on top.
- Brush the air fryer basket and top of calzones with olive oil.
- Air fry 1–2 calzones at 370°F for 9 minutes, checking at 7 minutes for doneness.
Notes
- If using refrigerated dough, bring to room temperature before rolling.
- Cook all raw meats before adding.
- Sauté watery vegetables to remove excess moisture.
- Dough from scratch adds an extra hour to prep time.
