Quick and Crispy Air Fryer Calzones in 20 Minutes

Ingredients

1 lb pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

All-purpose flour (for rolling)

1/2 cup pizza sauce

2 cups shredded mozzarella

Toppings of your choice (cooked meats, sautéed vegetables, herbs, etc.)

1 tbsp olive oil


Instructions

  1. Divide the dough into 8 equal pieces.
  2. Roll each piece into a 6-inch circle, about 1/8 inch thick.
  3. Spread 1–2 tablespoons of pizza sauce on half of each circle, leaving a 1-inch border.
  4. Add approximately 3 tablespoons of cheese and 2 tablespoons of your chosen toppings.
  5. Fold the dough over the fillings and pinch edges to seal. Cut 2–3 vents on top.
  6. Brush the air fryer basket and top of calzones with olive oil.
  7. Air fry 1–2 calzones at 370°F for 9 minutes, checking at 7 minutes for doneness.

Notes

  • If using refrigerated dough, bring to room temperature before rolling.
  • Cook all raw meats before adding.
  • Sauté watery vegetables to remove excess moisture.
  • Dough from scratch adds an extra hour to prep time.
