- Prep the Sweet Potatoes:
Wash and scrub the sweet potatoes to remove any dirt. Pat dry. Use a fork to poke several holes in each sweet potato to allow steam to escape during cooking. - Oil and Season:
Rub the sweet potatoes with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with coarse sea salt. - Preheat Air Fryer:
Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes. - Cook:
Place sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 400°F for 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through for even crispness. - Check for Doneness:
Insert a fork or knife into the center of the potatoes. If it slides in easily, they are done. If not, cook for an additional 5 minutes and check again. - Serve:
Allow sweet potatoes to rest for a couple of minutes. Cut the top open, fluff the inside, and add your preferred toppings.
Notes
- Select sweet potatoes of similar size for even cooking.
- Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket to allow proper air circulation.
- Rest cooked sweet potatoes for a few minutes before slicing to retain moisture.
- The skin is edible and adds extra texture, but can be peeled after cooking if preferred.
