Ingredients

1 large ripe yellow mango, peeled, pitted, and cubed

2 green tea bags

5 cups water

1 sprig fresh mint leaves, plus extra for garnish

2 tablespoons sugar or sweetener of choice (adjust to taste)

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 cup ice cubes (for serving)

Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime

Lemon or lime slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Place the mango cubes in a blender and blend until smooth. Set the mango pulp aside.

  2. In a medium pot, bring the water to a boil.

  3. Turn off the heat, add the green tea bags and turmeric powder, and let steep for 2–3 minutes.

  4. Remove the tea bags to prevent bitterness.

  5. While the tea is still warm, stir in the mango pulp and sweetener until fully combined.

  6. Allow the mixture to cool slightly.

  7. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes.

  8. Add lemon or lime juice to the tea, then pour over the ice.

  9. Garnish with fresh mint leaves and citrus slices. Serve immediately.

For later use, store the tea in the refrigerator without ice and add ice only when serving.

Notes

Do not over-steep green tea, as it can become bitter.

Use turmeric in moderation to avoid overpowering the flavor.

Fresh mango provides the best taste, but frozen mango or mango pulp can be used as substitutes.

Adjust sweetness and citrus levels according to personal preference.
