1 egg (or just the egg white for a lighter, crispier chaffle)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat a mini waffle maker for 3-4 minutes. Brush plates with melted butter or oil. Sprinkle a small amount of cheese on each plate.
- Whisk the egg white in a small bowl until slightly foamy. Mix in shredded cheddar cheese and let sit 1-2 minutes.
- Pour half of the batter onto the bottom plate, spread evenly, and close the lid. Cook 3-4 minutes until deep golden brown.
- Remove the chaffle carefully and let cool 1-2 minutes. Repeat with remaining batter.
- Serve as is or top with your favorite sweet or savory toppings.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, return cooled chaffles to the waffle maker or toast in an air fryer for 1-2 minutes.
