In a medium bowl, add the sour cream, mayonnaise, chopped dill, lemon zest, lemon juice, and garlic powder. - Mix until smooth
Stir thoroughly using a spoon or small whisk until the mixture is creamy and evenly combined. Make sure the dill and lemon zest are well distributed. - Season to taste
Add a small pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper. Stir again and taste. Adjust seasoning as needed. The sauce should taste bright, fresh, and slightly tangy. - Chill for best flavor
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving. This resting time allows the flavors to meld and develop. - Final adjustment
