A quick and simple no-bake snack made with oats, cocoa powder, and peanut butter. These chocolate peanut butter balls come together in minutes and are perfect for meal prep, lunchboxes, or healthy snacking any time of day.
Ingredients
1 cup rolled oats
1/4 cup honey or brown rice syrup
1/4 cup natural peanut butter (smooth and drippy)
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
Pinch of salt
Instructions
-
In a medium bowl, add the rolled oats, cocoa powder, peanut butter, honey, and salt.
-
Stir until all ingredients are well combined and a thick dough forms.
-
Lightly wet your hands to prevent sticking.
-
Scoop out about one tablespoon of the mixture and roll it between your palms to form a ball.
-
Repeat until all the dough is used.
-
Place the balls on a plate and chill for 15–20 minutes to firm up, if desired.
-
Transfer to an airtight container for storage.
Notes
- Use natural peanut butter with visible oils for the best texture and binding.
- If the dough feels too dry, add more honey one teaspoon at a time until it comes together.
- For a smoother texture, quick-cooking oats can be used instead of rolled oats.
- You may replace a small portion of the cocoa powder with chocolate protein powder, but additional sweetener may be needed to maintain the right consistency.
- Wetting your hands before rolling makes shaping easier and cleaner.
