Ingredients

2 lb (4–6 medium) sweet potatoes, unpeeled

2 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)

1 tsp dried oregano

1 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp paprika

3/4 tsp sea salt (plus more to taste)

1/4 tsp black pepper (plus more to taste)

Optional Add-ins / Variations:

12 tsp dried rosemary, thyme, or Italian seasoning

1/2 tsp cinnamon, cumin, chili powder, or smoked paprika

12 tbsp maple syrup (regular or sugar-free)

Instructions

  1. Prep the sweet potatoes: Wash and dry the sweet potatoes thoroughly. Cut into evenly sized wedges so they cook uniformly.
  2. Season the wedges: In a large bowl, toss sweet potato wedges with olive oil, oregano, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
  3. Arrange in air fryer: Place the wedges in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding; cook in batches if needed.
  4. Cook: Air fry at 390°F (199°C) for 15–20 minutes. Flip or shake the wedges halfway through cooking for even browning. Wedges are done when golden, crispy, and fork-tender.
  5. Optional finishing touch: Sprinkle with additional salt and pepper after cooking, if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Sweet potato sizes vary, so adjust cooking times accordingly.
  • You can experiment with different seasonings and herbs based on your flavor preference.
  • Air frying yields the best crispness, but you can also bake in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 25–30 minutes as an alternative.
